Executive Summary
Crypto has already demonstrated that ownership can be verified, transactions can be transparent, digital scarcity can be enforced, and financial activity can operate through decentralized networks.
The Tide asks the next question: Can positive impact be proven too?
That is the idea behind Proof of Impact.
The Tide is a global kindness movement designed to connect real-world acts of kindness, charitable giving, community participation, and blockchain transparency.
$STARFISH is the digital token that connects people to The Tide ecosystem and helps power participation in the movement.
The ecosystem is built around several simple ideas:
- Verified Acts Create Measurable Impact1 Verified Act of Kindness = 1 $STARFISH Returned to the Sea.
- Giving Creates Measurable Impact$1 contributed to Wave Partners = 1 $STARFISH Returned to the Sea.
- Trading Can Generate Real-World ImpactEvery $STARFISH buy and sell through the official $STARFISH/USDC Uniswap market is intended to include a 1.0% IMPACT Fee.
- The Community Helps Decide Where Support GoesHolding at least 1 $STARFISH makes an eligible wallet able to participate in Wave Partner voting.
- More $STARFISH does not equal more votesOne eligible wallet receives one vote.
- Impact Can Be Made Visible$STARFISH Returned to the Sea is burned on Base, permanently reducing total supply through publicly observable blockchain transactions.
Participation → Impact → Proof
1. The Opportunity
Charitable giving represents an enormous global economic ecosystem.
Yet much of the infrastructure surrounding philanthropy remains fragmented. Contributions, volunteer activity, community participation, organizational decisions, and measurable outcomes often exist across disconnected systems.
Blockchain creates an opportunity to introduce a new layer of transparency.
What if blockchain became infrastructure for the future of charitable participation?
Not simply a crypto project that occasionally donates money.
Not simply a charitable organization that accepts cryptocurrency.
Instead: An ecosystem designed from the ground up around Proof of Impact.
People → Kindness → Community → Capital → Impact → Proof
Impact happens in the real world. Proof of measurable activity can increasingly live on-chain.
2. Proof of Impact
Proof of Impact is the central idea behind The Tide.
Acts of kindness, charitable contributions, community decisions, official-market trading activity, and $STARFISH permanently removed from circulation can become connected components of a measurable ecosystem.
At The Tide, permanently removing $STARFISH from circulation has its own language:
Returning $STARFISH to the Sea
Every $STARFISH Returned to the Sea is permanently burned and removed from circulation. The burn reduces the ERC-20 contract-reported total supply.
Where blockchain is used to record that activity, the transaction can be publicly observed and independently verified on Base.
Real-World Participation → Measurable Activity → On-Chain Proof
Blockchain does not create the good being done. It can help make measurable parts of that activity transparent and verifiable.
3. Real Acts. Measurable Impact.
People around the world can submit acts of kindness through The Tide.
Submitted acts may be screened and reviewed according to The Tide's verification standards. The public submission flow uses country-level location rather than requiring a city or precise personal location.
1 Verified Act of Kindness = 1 $STARFISH Returned to the Sea
That $STARFISH is permanently burned on Base, subject to the current 100,000,000 $STARFISH verified-acts program limit.
A simple human action can therefore create a measurable consequence inside the ecosystem.
One act becomes one data point. Thousands of acts become a measurable movement. Millions of acts can become Proof of Impact at scale.
Pre-launch beta-test totals reset to zero before public launch. Official public act counting and associated Return-to-the-Sea activity begin from zero when The Tide goes live.
4. Giving Creates Proof of Impact
The Tide also connects verified contributions benefiting Wave Partners to the Return-to-the-Sea mechanism.
$1 Contributed = 1 $STARFISH Returned to the Sea
The Tide's initial Return-to-the-Sea goals are:
Up to 100,000,000 $STARFISH Returned through verified acts of kindness
Up to 100,000,000 $STARFISH Returned through qualifying contributions benefiting Wave Partners, including verified IMPACT Fee proceeds and verified community donations
Initial Goal: Up to 200,000,000 $STARFISH Returned to the Sea
For community donations, the verified gross contribution amount determines the Return-to-the-Sea count. For IMPACT Fee proceeds, the qualifying USD amount is based on verifiable value delivered or designated to the Wave Partner.
5. The 1.0% IMPACT Fee
The Tide creates a direct connection between $STARFISH trading activity in the official market and real-world causes.
Every $STARFISH buy and sell through the official $STARFISH/USDC Uniswap market is intended to include a 1.0% IMPACT Fee
The IMPACT Fee is designed to generate ongoing support for the community-selected Wave Partner.
This means impact does not depend exclusively on someone deciding to make a separate charitable contribution. Participation in the $STARFISH ecosystem itself can help generate resources for good.
Someone buys $STARFISH. The IMPACT Fee can generate support.
Someone sells $STARFISH. The IMPACT Fee can generate support.
As ecosystem activity grows, trading activity can generate additional resources benefiting Wave Partners.
Trading Activity → IMPACT Fee → Wave Partner → Real-World Impact
Combined with acts of kindness, contributions, voting, and Return-to-the-Sea activity, this creates a larger cycle:
Participation → Impact → Proof
How the 1.0% IMPACT Fee Works
- The IMPACT Fee is the 1.0% trading fee on the official $STARFISH/USDC pool on Uniswap v4, on the Base network. It is the pool's own fee rather than a charge built into the token: $STARFISH remains a standard ERC-20, not a fee-on-transfer token. Every buy and sell through that pool pays it, including trades routed there by wallets and trading apps.
- The Tide provides the launch liquidity and locks 100% of its position permanently with UNCX, a liquidity-locking service, so it can never be withdrawn. The lock keeps only the right to collect that position's trading fees.
- 100% of IMPACT Fee proceeds, less unavoidable direct third-party costs required to collect, convert, process, transmit, or deliver them, are committed to the current Wave Partner. The Tide Global LLC, the Founder, and the team retain 0% as revenue, profit, compensation, or operating income.
- Those unavoidable costs include UNCX's 2% of each fee collection, Base network gas, swap or conversion costs, slippage, banking or wire charges, and payment-processing charges. The Tide retains none of them.
- IMPACT Fee proceeds are collected into a shared wallet that needs two of three approvers to move anything, and are intended to reach the Wave Partner in USDC or another practical USD-equivalent form they can receive.
- Fees from buys arrive as USDC; fees from sells arrive as $STARFISH, which has to be sold before a Wave Partner can receive it. That conversion happens once a month, in a single batch, because every sale pays the pool's own fee and moves the price a little.
- Uniswap also charges its own 0.1% on each trade, and ordinary Base network gas is paid by the trader; both are on top of the IMPACT Fee, and neither goes to The Tide. Because Uniswap is permissionless, unrelated third parties may be able to create separate $STARFISH markets; this commitment applies to the official $STARFISH/USDC market.
- The pool is open to anyone. Other people can add their own liquidity to the official $STARFISH/USDC pool and earn a share of the same 1.0% in proportion to what they add. The Tide commits 100% of what its own permanently locked position earns; at launch that position is the whole pool.
| Uniswap's own 0.1%, paid by the trader on top | $1.00 |
| IMPACT Fee (1.0%) on the remaining $999 | $9.99 |
| Kept by UNCX when the fees are collected (2%) | $0.20 |
| Committed to the Wave Partner | $9.79 |
The rest of the unavoidable costs of delivering the money — network gas, conversion and transfer charges — also come out of that $9.99. The Tide, the Founder and the team keep none of it.
IMPACT Fee Transparency
The Tide intends to make the operation of the IMPACT Fee as transparent as practical, including publicly identifying relevant wallets and publishing information showing how ecosystem-generated support is directed to Wave Partners.
The exact technical implementation, addresses, and on-chain components will be published as they become operational and should be verified through official Tide channels.
6. The Wave Partner System
Wave Partners are verified, qualified organizations selected through The Tide community process to receive featured ecosystem support.
Nominations are always open. Once a nominated organization is verified and eligible, it remains in the eligible pool until selected as a Wave Partner or otherwise becomes ineligible. Once selected, it is not eligible to be selected again under the current rules.
Each monthly cycle produces five finalists: four determined automatically using published criteria and one Wild Wave finalist selected randomly from eligible organizations. The four criteria-based finalists are intended to be calculated off-chain using predefined technology, and relevant selection records or proofs will be published transparently and anchored or referenced on Base where practical.
- Community Interest
- Global Representation
- Cause Quality
- Wild Wave Selection
Finalists are presented to eligible $STARFISH holders for community voting. The organization receiving the winning vote becomes the next Wave Partner.
The objective is to create a recurring process in which people nominate, the community participates, eligible token holders vote, economic activity generates support, and a real-world organization benefits.
The process repeats month after month.
7. Community Governance Without Pay-to-Win Voting
The Tide deliberately separates token ownership from voting power.
To participate in Wave Partner voting, an eligible wallet must hold at least 1 $STARFISH.
More $STARFISH ≠ More Votes
One eligible wallet receives one vote. A wallet holding millions of $STARFISH does not automatically receive greater voting power than a wallet holding one.
An eligible wallet must still satisfy the minimum $STARFISH requirement at the final eligibility check when voting closes. This is intended to help prevent the same token balance from being moved through multiple wallets to validate multiple final votes.
The size of a wallet does not determine the size of its vote.
The Tide does not claim that one blockchain wallet necessarily represents one unique human being. Anti-bot and anti-Sybil safeguards may evolve as technology and participation develop. Votes are final once submitted: live vote totals, rankings and percentages are not displayed while voting is open, and final results and relevant verification records are published after voting closes.
8. $STARFISH on Base
$STARFISH is the digital token connecting participants to The Tide ecosystem. It is designed to support participation, governance, Proof of Impact, economic activity, and future utility.
Blockchain
Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 network · ERC-20
Maximum original supply
1,000,000,000 $STARFISH
All 1 billion $STARFISH are created at deployment as the fixed original supply.
Creating More
The intended deployed contract does not include an administrative function that allows The Tide to mint additional $STARFISH after deployment.
Freezing
The intended contract does not include an administrative function allowing The Tide to arbitrarily freeze ordinary wallets or pause ordinary $STARFISH transfers.
These choices are intended to reduce unnecessary centralized control and make important elements of the token structure independently verifiable.
The official token contract address, official Uniswap pool, and relevant Base explorer links will be published through The Tide's official channels.
9. $STARFISH Tokenomics
The fixed original supply of 1 billion $STARFISH is allocated as follows:
| Allocation | Share | Tokens |
|---|---|---|
| Liquidity / Public Launch | 50% | 500,000,000 $STARFISH |
| Founder & Team | 15% | 150,000,000 $STARFISH |
| Tide Operations & Growth | 15% | 150,000,000 $STARFISH |
| Community Wallet | 10% | 100,000,000 $STARFISH |
| Kindness Wallet | 10% | 100,000,000 $STARFISH |
| TOTAL | 100% | 1,000,000,000 $STARFISH |
10. Founder & Team Vesting
The Founder & Team allocation represents 15% of total supply, or 150,000,000 $STARFISH.
This allocation is intended to be placed into an on-chain vesting contract at launch, aligning the Founder & Team with the continued development of The Tide.
12-Month Cliff → 36-Month Even Vesting
The Founder & Team vesting period begins at launch. No scheduled Founder & Team tokens vest during the first 12 months.
Following the 12-month cliff, the allocation vests evenly over the next 36 months. This creates an overall vesting horizon extending approximately four years from launch.
The Tide will publish the relevant vesting contract and wallet information so the schedule can be independently inspected.
11. Returning $STARFISH to the Sea
The Return-to-the-Sea mechanism uses the ERC-20 burn process to permanently remove designated $STARFISH from circulation and reduce total supply.
$STARFISH Returned to the Sea = $STARFISH Permanently Burned
Return-to-the-Sea transactions are intended to be publicly observable and independently verifiable on Base.
Real-World Impact → Measurable Activity → $STARFISH Returned to the Sea
Over time, Return-to-the-Sea activity can reduce the amount of $STARFISH remaining in circulation. There is no guarantee that a reduction in circulating supply will result in an increase in market value.
Its importance to Proof of Impact is simpler: the change is measurable, the transaction can be verified, and the removal is permanent.
12. Current Utility of $STARFISH
The Tide is a global kindness movement first. $STARFISH exists to connect people to the ecosystem and help power participation in that movement.
| Utility | Status | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Wave Partner Voting | Launch | Holding at least 1 $STARFISH allows an eligible wallet to participate in Wave Partner voting. |
| Community Governance | Launch | Eligible wallets help determine which Wave Partner receives community support. |
| Proof of Impact | Launch / Developing | $STARFISH is the digital asset used within the Return-to-the-Sea system. |
| Economic Participation | Launch | Trading through the official $STARFISH/USDC Uniswap market is intended to generate the 1.0% IMPACT Fee. |
| Ecosystem Identity | Ongoing | $STARFISH connects community participation, voting, impact activity, Wave Partners, and blockchain transparency. |
13. Future Utility
The Tide's long-term objective is to continually expand the number of meaningful reasons people and organizations may interact with $STARFISH.
| Utility | Status | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Wave Partner Integrations | Planned | Campaigns, initiatives, challenges, experiences, and other programs involving $STARFISH and The Tide community. |
| Community Challenges | Planned | Local and global kindness challenges creating additional participation paths. |
| Business & Merchant Participation | Future | Potential charitable promotions, community initiatives, customer engagement, or cause-related programs. |
| Recognition & Achievement | Future | Potential digital recognition, milestones, badges, or participation records. |
| Events & Experiences | Future | Potential access to selected experiences, campaigns, or initiatives. |
| Expanded Governance | Future | Additional opportunities for eligible community members to participate in ecosystem decisions. |
| Third-Party Proof of Impact Integrations | Long-Term | Potential tools for charities, businesses, communities, or other organizations. |
These concepts represent areas of potential development. They are not promises that any specific future feature will be completed or launched.
14. Building Sustainable Demand
Scarcity alone does not create a healthy ecosystem. People need meaningful reasons to participate.
Growing Utility + Growing Participation
Potential demand for $STARFISH may be influenced by factors including:
- Growth of The Tide community
- Demand for participation in Wave Partner voting
- Expansion of $STARFISH utility
- Wave Partner adoption
- Charitable integrations
- Business participation
- Community campaigns
- Events and experiences
- Trading activity
- Growth of the Proof of Impact network
- Confidence in The Tide's transparency and execution
- The amount of $STARFISH remaining in circulation
None of these factors guarantees demand or future value. The objective is to build an ecosystem in which people have meaningful reasons to interact with $STARFISH beyond speculation alone.
15. Understanding Potential Value Without Making Promises
$STARFISH is not being presented as a promise of future financial return. The Tide does not guarantee that $STARFISH will increase in value, maintain a particular value, or produce a return.
The Tide does not control the market price of $STARFISH. Like other freely traded digital assets, its market value may be influenced by numerous factors, including:
- Supply and demand
- Utility
- Community growth
- Trading activity
- Liquidity
- Adoption
- Market sentiment
- The amount of $STARFISH Returned to the Sea
- Broader cryptocurrency markets
- Macroeconomic conditions
- Regulatory developments
- Confidence in The Tide and its execution
$STARFISH begins with a fixed maximum supply of 1 billion tokens. Return-to-the-Sea activity may reduce the amount remaining in circulation over time. At the same time, The Tide intends to work toward increasing utility and participation.
Participation + Utility + Demand + Fixed Supply + Measurable Scarcity + Proof of Impact
Whether those factors ever result in increased market value is determined by the market and cannot be guaranteed.
The goal is not to promise a price. The goal is to build something people have meaningful reasons to use and participate in.
16. Transparency as Infrastructure
The Tide believes transparency should not simply be something an organization promises. Where practical, it should be built into the system.
The Tide intends to make important ecosystem information publicly observable, including information related to:
- $STARFISH fixed-supply contract properties and verified source code
- Relevant project wallets and multisignature controls where practical
- Return-to-the-Sea burns and total supply
- Founder & Team on-chain vesting
- Official Uniswap pool and permanent liquidity-lock information
- IMPACT Fee accounting and Wave Partner distributions
- Wave Partner processes and voting rules
- Published Proof of Impact data and relevant Base transactions
- Finalist-selection records or proofs where practical
The Tide commissioned an independent pre-launch audit of the $STARFISH token contract from CertiK and will publish the report through official Tide channels. The IMPACT Fee is the Uniswap pool's own trading fee rather than custom code, and the liquidity lock (UNCX) and the Founder & Team vesting (Sablier) use established third-party contracts audited by their own developers. Not every real-world result can be independently proven by a blockchain: a blockchain can verify that a transaction happened, but it cannot, by itself, prove every real-world outcome associated with that transaction.
Transparency. Permanence. Measurement. Verification.
17. Decentralization Through Reduced Human Control
True decentralization is not simply a slogan. It means reducing unnecessary points of centralized control wherever practical.
- Fixed original token supply with no administrative future minting function
- No administrative freeze or pause function for ordinary wallets and transfers
- Public Return-to-the-Sea burns
- Community-selected Wave Partners
- Published finalist-selection criteria
- One eligible wallet, one vote
- Permanent full-range launch liquidity lock held by UNCX
- On-chain Founder & Team vesting
- Multi-party multisignature controls where practical, and limited discretionary intervention
Certain human involvement remains necessary where real-world organizations, fraud prevention, legal compliance, technical failures, act verification, or emergency circumstances are involved. The emergency mechanism is intended to require multi-party multisignature approval so no one individual has unilateral power, and the final signer count and threshold will be published when operational.
Where intervention occurs, The Tide's goal is transparency rather than pretending human judgment never exists.
Do not ask people to trust The Tide when the system can allow them to verify it instead.

19. From Proof of Work to Proof of Impact
Bitcoin introduced Proof of Work. Blockchain demonstrated that ownership, transactions, and scarcity could be independently verified. Decentralized finance demonstrated that financial systems could become programmable.
The Tide introduces a different idea:
Proof of Impact
- Can kindness become measurable?
- Can charitable participation become more transparent?
- Can communities collectively help decide where resources go?
- Can everyday economic activity generate resources for real-world causes?
- Can real-world participation create verifiable on-chain consequences?
- Can blockchain provide infrastructure that helps make charitable activity more transparent?
We believe it can.
20. The Bigger Thesis
The largest opportunity may not be convincing existing charities to accept cryptocurrency. It may be creating an entirely new infrastructure layer connecting:
People → Kindness → Community → Capital → Impact → Proof
The charitable-giving economy is enormous. Yet the ability to transparently connect millions of individual acts, contributions, community decisions, economic interactions, and collective outcomes remains limited.
The Tide intends to help change that.
Every act can create a ripple.
Every contribution can strengthen a wave.
Every official-market $STARFISH trade can help generate impact through the 1.0% IMPACT Fee.
Every community vote can help influence where support flows.
Every $STARFISH Returned to the Sea can become part of a publicly observable record.
A Global Proof of Impact Network
$STARFISH is not simply a token attached to a charitable cause.
It is the digital asset powering an experiment in making altruism measurable, transparent, decentralized, and provable.
Small Acts of Kindness. Endless Waves.
